Adept Technology introduces new self-contained vision inspection system
JULY 25--Adept Technology Inc. (San Jose, CA; www.adept.com), a manufacturer of flexible automation for the electronics, fiberoptics, telecommunications, and semiconductor industries, has introduced the AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System, which consists of the high-performance Adept SmartController CX with an advanced vision interface board, the AdeptVision sAVI, and vision toolbox including Adept's locator tool, the ObjectFinder 2000. The AdeptVision sAVI Inspection System is half the cost of Adept's previous vision system with half the footprint, intended to make it easier to deploy.
The inspection system is a compact system that uses the most advanced contour detection technology to identify objects and patterns based on their geometric shape, resulting in outstanding robustness to clutter, lighting variations, image degradations, and occlusions. The system also includes Adept AIM VisionWare application software with an easy-to-use graphical programming environment, supporting quick programming development and interfacing to cell I/O and factory information systems. The system includes the Adept V+ real-time, multitasking operating system, which can handle up to 28 simultaneous program tasks and can be upgraded to handle robots and other motion devices without compromising vision performance.
