MAY 17--New Hampshire's Manchester Airport will implement the Viisage Technology (Littleton, MA; www.viisage.com) SecureFlight face-recognition system to enhance security and safety for its travelers. Manchester becomes the fourth US airport to adopt this technology, which enables security personnel to screen for terrorists and other human threats.

SecureFlight, powered by Viisage face-recognition software FaceFinder, will scan travelers' faces as they pass through security checkpoints and compare them to a database of known terrorists and wanted criminals. All passenger security checkpoints at Manchester Airport will utilize this system, which is expected to be installed within the next few months. Kevin Dillon, director of Manchester Airport said, "Facial recognition and other biometric technologies are important components of a multilayered aviation security system. Viisage's facial-recognition system enables Manchester to increase the safety of our passengers while maintaining the airport's convenience."
