MAY 7--Redlake MASD Inc. (San Diego, CA; www.redlake.com), a supplier of optical-sensor, color-processing, and image postprocessing products and technology, has agreed to partner with Wind River Systems Inc. (Alameda, CA; www.windriver.com), a supplier of embedded real-time software platforms and services for connected devices, to develop the high-speed HG-100K digital imaging system. This network-based imaging system is targeted at applications such as vehicle impact testing, airbag deployment testing, military weapons testing, and research and development.

The KG-100K imaging system will use an exclusive CMOS sensor to capture high-speed events in harsh environments at an "equivalent-to-film" rating of 400 ASA for color systems and 1600 ASA for monochrome systems. It is anticipated to record events at 1000 frames/s at a resolution of 1504 x 1128 pixels. Rates to 100,000 frames/s are expected to be available at reduced resolutions. Other features include a fast global electronic shutter, exposure times to 5 μs, a 1000 Base-T Ethernet interface, and compatibility with company legacy systems.
