OBSIS is a software package designed to incorporate custom measurement equipment and synchronize the resulting data with PhaseSpacemotion-capture systems. Utilizing PhaseSpace systems' wireless active markers, OBSIS provides instantaneous biomechanical model previews and data quality analysis in real time. The software synchronizes the data from analog and digital signals with the motion-capture system and can also provide analog and digital outputs. The software offers an alternative to current biomechanical data collection utilities by providing data collection and advanced analysis (kinematic and kinetic) in one unified system. The user can perform upgrades by loading MATLAB/Octave files and dynamically populate menus to incorporate the results into the report generation.

NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE

Orbis Releases OBSIS – Orbis Biomechanical System Integration Software
New Biomechanical Software Provides Synchronization, Computational Modeling, Data Preview, and Customization

Mount Pleasant, SC -- Orbis today announced the release of OBSIS, a software package designed to incorporate your custom and novel measurement equipment and synchronize the resulting data with PhaseSpace motion capture systems. Because PhaseSpace motion capture systems now utilize wireless active markers, OBSIS provides instantaneous biomechanical model previews and immediate data quality analysis in real-time. Data processing and report generation happens within seconds to provide immediate feedback on data quality to laboratory technicians responsible for data collection.

The OBSIS software package synchronizes the data of analog and digital signals with the PhaseSpace motion capture system. In addition the software also has the capability to provide analog and digital outputs.

All of this functionality allows for easy integration with force plates, EMG, foot switches, or any other biomechanical measurement systems with analog output or triggered input. The program then stores data in an organized fashion on a network or hard drive. Data analysis and report generation can be done directly after a trial has been collected to evaluate the data for quality control.

OBSIS also provides the user with flexibility. In addition to the data acquisition capabilities of the basic software package, additional features can be added by Orbis engineers according to customer needs. Examples of customizable capabilities include the ability to incorporate custom analysis, report generation, Biofeedback, and user interfaces beyond the kinematics and basic signal analysis provided.

OBSIS also allows the user to perform their own upgrades by loading Matlab/Octave files and dynamically populating OBSIS menus to incorporate the results into the OBSIS report generation. Other OBSIS upgrades include measurement systems that rely on a variety of communication protocols. Examples are Bluetooth communication, RS232, RS485, USB, TCP/IP, S-Video, and VGA. These protocols allow communication with various hardware systems from metabolic carts to ultrasound scanners.

OBSIS provides an alternative to current biomechanical data collection utilities by providing data collection and advanced analysis (kinematic and kinetic) in one unified system that makes transition from collection to analysis seamless. Because of this, OBSIS is able to provide users with immediate report generation capability making it possible to produce plots and spreadsheets from processed data before the subject leaves the lab.
