MIL 9.0, the latest version of the Matrox Imaging Library development toolkit, allows the MIL application to be distributed across several computers over a network, to be controlled remotely or in a master-slave configuration. To help reduce the load on the host CPU, the development application can offload image processing functions (primitives such as arithmetic, geometric transforms, filters, and morphology) to a graphics processing unit (GPU). The Processing Pack 1 (PP1) add-on features multicore and multi-CPU speed optimizations, a color analysis tool, a 3-D reconstruction tool, and verification of 1-D/2-D codes using ISO/IEC standards.
