NOVEMBER 13, 2008--CLV620 and CLV630 barcode scanners are compact tools for a range of logistics applications, such as distribution warehouses, high-speed packaging, and parcel/postal operations. All scanners in the CLV 6XX family have both onboard serial and Ethernet communication versions. Other features include tracking packages with encoder input and an IP 65 enclosure rating. The CLV620 and CLV630 have processing capabilities (between 10-20X higher) that result in real-time 1200-Hz scanning. Products are easy to set up using the SOPAS engineering tool (SICK Open Portal for Applications and Systems), an intelligent software program that provides a universal platform for user-friendly data management.

PRESS RELEASE
SICK Launches New High-performance Bar Code Scanners
CLV620 and CLV630 offer greater reading performance, increased functionality
and flexibility
Minneapolis, Minn., - August 21, 2008. SICK (www.sickusa.com), one of the world's leading manufacturers of sensors, safety systems, vision, and automatic identification products for factory and logistics automation, today announced the launch of its CLV620 and CLV630 line of bar code scanners. These scanners are compact, yet powerful new tools for a wide range of logistics applications, such as distribution warehouses, high-speed packaging, and parcel/postal operations.
Speed, power, flexibility and ease of use are the features that define the new CLV 620 and CLV630 Laser Bar Code family. Connectivity options have also become a driving factor in bar code applications and that is why all of the scanners in the CLV 6XX family have both onboard serial and EtherNet communication versions. Other advanced features, like tracking packages with encoder input and an IP 65 enclosure rating, give this new scanner platform the high-end performance usually expected in scanners 2 to 3 times the cost.
These new bar code scanners offer greater reading performance via SMART (SICK's Modular Advanced Recognition Technology), added functionality that enables the scanners to read poor, partially hidden, or damaged bar codes. The CLV620 and CLV630 also have much higher processing capabilities (between 10 - 20 x higher), which results in real-time 1200 Hz scanning. These innovative bar code scanners also allow users to easily program complex sorting, filtering and output functionality.
The products are easy to set up using SICK's SOPAS engineering tool (SICK Open Portal for Applications and Systems). This intelligent software program provides customers with a universal platform for user-friendly data management.
