NOVEMBER 7, 2008--The Galileo AV350 video measurement system is an intermediate travel multisensor metrology instrument offering a square 14 x 14-in. (350 x 350-mm) x/y work area and extra z-clearance at 8 in. (200 mm). The z-clearance, combined with extra rigidity, provides the necessary space for multisensor attachments, including vision, contact probe, and laser scanning. The color optical system provides a zoom magnification ratio of 12:1 with a programmable magnification range from 15X to 550X (on screen) with auxiliary lenses. An LED illuminator or triple-output fiberoptic ringlight and coaxial illumination provide lighting. A darkfield simulated LED ringlight (quadrant controllable) is also available. Other options include a Renishaw PH6 contact probe with TP20 module and an Optimet Mark III laser probe. The system includes a 24-in. LCD. The AV350 work envelope offers a motion volume of 14.1 x 14.1 x 8.1 in. (355 x 355 x 205 mm). It also includes Metronics Quadra-Chek QC-5000 3-D metrology software with video edge detection and full CNC control.

Starrett Company introduced the Galileo AV350 Video Measurement System, the latest in the line of exceptionally precise Galileo Systems. The AV350 is an intermediate travel multi-sensor metrology instrument offering a large, square 14" x 14" (350mm x 350mm) X/Y work area and extra Z-clearance at 8" (200mm). The large Z-clearance, combined with extra rigidity provides the necessary space for multi-sensor attachments, including vision, contact probe and laser scanning.

The Galileo AV350 is ideal for use in QC labs, research, engineering and manufacturing environments. "The new Galileo AV350 offers our customers a flexible video measurement solution by featuring a substantial work area together with a large Z-clearance that will accommodate multi-sensor capabilities," said Mr. Mark Arenal, Managing Director of Starrett Kinemetric

The AV350's color optical system provides a zoom magnification ratio of 12:1 with a programmable magnification range from 15x to 550x (on screen) with auxiliary lenses. An LED illuminator or triple output fiber-optic, ring light and co-axial illumination provides exceptional lighting. Dark field simulated LED ring light, quadrant controllable, is also available. Other options include a Renishaw PH6 contact probe with TP20 module and an Optimet Mark III Laser Probe.

The system includes a 24" widescreen, flat panel LCD display. The AV350 work envelope offers a motion volume of 14.1" x 14.1" x 8.1" (355mm x 355mm x 205mm). Overall size of the Galileo AV350 including its supplied pedestal is 40" x 50" x 76" (1010mm x 1270mm x 1930mm) and the system weighs approximately 500lbs. Maximum workload (evenly distributed) is 25 lbs (11kg).

High accuracy is offered at E2=2.5+5L/1,000 and an Encoder Resolution of 0.1µm (4µin). The AV350 includes industry-leading Metronics Quadra-Chek QC-5000 3-D Metrology Software with video edge detection and full CNC control. Utilizing the familiar MS Windows operating system, QC-5000 software is full-featured and intuitive. It allows you to obtain, store, manage and distribute precision measurement data directly from the lab or the shop floor.
