JUNE 2, 2008--Camera manufacturer VRmagic (Mannheim, Germany) is now a partner in the MVTec Image Acquisition Partner Program. With release 8.0.2 of its HALCON image-processing software, MVTec provides an interface to cameras from VRmagic.

"A complete HALCON interface has never before been programmed in just 10 days," said Christoph Zierl, development manager at MVTec. "Both the HALCON Imaging Acquisition Interface and the VRmagic SDK are well documented and highly structured, and this meant that it was possible to achieve fast integration," commented Thomas Ruf, development manager at VRmagic.

HALCON is the comprehensive standard software library with the IDE for machine vision. HALCON provides an outstanding performance for blob analysis, morphology, pattern matching, measuring, 3-D object recognition, and binocular stereo vision. HALCON offers more than 1300 operators and provides interfaces to hundreds of industrial image-acquisition devices. Furthermore, HALCON is platform independent and compatible to Windows, Linux, and Solaris. More information is available at www.halcon.com.

Founded in Mannheim, Germany, in 2001, VRmagic develops, manufactures, and sells cameras for industrial image processing, optical tracking systems, and VR technology. A second business division specializes in simulators for surgical training. For further information please visit www.vrmtech.com.
