DECEMBER 5, 2008--At VISION 2008, Allied Vision Technologies (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.alliedvisiontec.com) launched its AVT Certified Vision Software Partner Program. The collaboration is intended to connect the camera manufacturer with selected image-processing software providers to ensure compatibility of AVT cameras and SDKs with their software.

"Allied Vision Technologies works in close cooperation with its certified partners to optimize the use of AVT cameras with their image-processing solutions," explains Jens Hashagen, product manager, software, at Allied Vision Technologies. He says that accessible intelligent camera functions and software components can enable expanded applications, such as FireWire s800 support with Windows Vista.

The program allows for the exchange of AVT camera models and software licenses, regular information exchanges regarding firmware and software updates, and close cooperation in development and customer support. Software interfaces developed by the company for partner applications will also be made available on the AVT Product CD and web site.

The following companies have already become part of the initiative:
A&B Software (www.ab-soft.com)
Cognex
