Senso Optics has announced the release of a thermal application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) Camera on Chip (COC), which features a 640 x 480 uncooled microbolometer VOx detector with a 17 µm x 17 µm pixel size on a 30 mm x 30 mm board. The first product to utilize the new COC is the X-LITE COC camera, which is a lightweight thermal imaging core for night vision applications which images in the 8 µm to 12 µm spectral range. USB 2.0 X-LITE COC cameras feature imaging algorithms for anti-blooming, time and spatial de-noise, temperature range compression, and local contrast enhancement. X-LITE COC cameras are suitable for use in law enforcement, military and defense, search and rescue, and security and surveillance applications.
