JULY 28, 2009--LMI Technologies (LMI; Delta, BC, Canada; www.lmitechnologies.com) has partnered with vision system provider Vision Machines (Bedford, MA, USA; www.vision-machines.com) for support and distribution of LMI's HexSight machine-vision software across the United States.
Vision Machines is a supplier of turnkey machine-vision and image analysis systems for end-user and OEM applications. The company's capabilities include linescan, 2-D, 3-D, and color vision systems, with a specialization in custom software development, lighting and optics, and color and grayscale machine-vision system integration. Vision Machines' staff will use HexSight in their own integration jobs, as well as offer development, training, and support services to customers.
HexSight provides a Locator Tool that offers contour-based object location, scale, and orientation. The latest version of HexSight also includes new support for color discrimination, working with color images using color information to extract contours to drive detection.
Marc Landman, principal of Vision Machines, has been working with HexSight software for more than a decade. "HexSight is a field-proven software product that provides us with the ability to successfully tackle challenging vision applications," he says.
