MVTec completes Halcon 9.0 training in Boston

FEBRUARY 27, 2009--MVTec has held a North American distributor training in Boston, MA, USA, from Feb. 10-12, 2009 for its Halcon 9.0 machine-vision software.

FEBRUARY 27, 2009--MVTec LLC (Boston, MA, USA; www.mvtec.com has held a North American distributor training in Boston, MA, USA, from Feb. 10-12, 2009 for its Halcon 9.0 machine-vision software. Halcon 9.0 has been available since January.

Halcon offers an integrated development environment (IDE) for machine-vision, medical imaging, and image-analysis applications and supports multicore platforms, MMX, and SSE2. It provides a library of more than 1400 operators for blob analysis, morphology, pattern matching, measuring, identification, and 3-D vision, among others.

Fourteen distribution engineers from North America took part in the event. Topics of the focused training included increased operation speeds especially for Halcon's automatic operator parallelization, new matching technologies for perspective distortions, novelties for 3-D vision, the processing of images larger than 32k x 32k pixels, and enhanced usability.
