FEBRUARY 13, 2009--The CAN-PCIeL interface board provides a PCIexpress-based CAN interface using the SJA1000 CAN controller. One or two CAN/CANopen channels are supported, optionally as opto-isolated ports with a 500-V isolation barrier. On-board line termination is 120 Ω, enabled by software. An extension module enables the user to add two more CAN ports to the PCIeL (an additional PCI bracket is needed to connect the two D-SUB ports). The device supports all current operating systems such as Windows XP/Vista, Windows CE, and Linux; other operating systems are available on request.

PRESS RELEASE

New PCIexpress CAN/CANopen Interfaces

Janz Automationssysteme AG has increased its family of CAN interface boards with a new member.

With the CAN-PCIeL from now on a PCIexpress based CAN interface is available. With this interface board (in future for example an interface for miniPCI will follow) the bandwidth of the support for different system architectures will grow, to give customers the possibility to migrate to new system platforms.

One or two CAN/CANopen channels are being supported, optionally as opto-isolated ports. As known from the passive interface the well-known SJA1000 CAN controller is being used. An intelligent device based on the PowerPC 405 (as used with the CAN-PCIH) an additional active interface for PCIexpress will follow soon!

Of course the support for all known operating systems like Windows XP/Vista, Windows CE and Linux will be available; other operating systems are available on request.
