MARCH 14--Trident Exhibitions reports that the recent Imaging, Photonics and Optical Technology (IPOT), Machine Vision, and Displays Technology exhibitions, held at the NEC in Birmingham, UK (February 15-16), were successful. Co-located with seven other focused industrial events including Machine Building and Automation, PneuMotion, Drives and Motion Control Systems, Mtec-Sensors, Measurement and Instrumentation, and Practical Vacuum, IPOT attracted more than 5,500 visitors.

For the first time the IPOT (www.ipot.co.uk) and Machine Vision event was complemented by the addition of the new Displays Technology exhibition, creating one Vision, Photonics and Displays resource. More than three quarters of IPOT, Machine Vision, and Displays Technology visitors were directors, managers, or purchasers.

Visitors came from industries including aerospace and defence, automotive, research and development, universities and laboratories, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, medical and pharmaceutical, and instrumentation and control to look for cameras, displays, image capture and storage components, CCDs, fibreoptic displays and sensors, image processing software, machine-vision systems, image analysers, and imaging systems.

Re-bookings for the 2007 shows are up by 12% when compared to the same time last year. The 2007 exhibitions will be held at the NEC on February 14 and 15, alongside Octo Media's Medical Device Technology and 3C events. IPOT, Machine Vision, and Displays Technology 2007 will see the return of the Laser Centre supported by The Association of Industrial Laser Users.
