AUGUST 23--Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT; Orion, MI, USA), a supplier of factory-automation design, engineering, and process-consulting services, has entered into an agreement to provide engineering and software services and support for the Shafi (Brighton, MI, USA; www.shafiinc.com) RELIABOT PC 3-D vision software products. The effort is part of AMT's ongoing machine-vision initiative, providing integrators and end users design, engineerin, and programming services for 2- and 3-D robot-guidance vision applications.
Under terms of the agreement, AMT will establish demonstration and development cells equipped with Shafi's RELIABOT PC software and robots. Initial applications will include automotive sheet-metal racking and unracking, structured and free-form bin picking, and other common 3-D material-handling and assembly processes.
