The consumer and capital goods industry is China has been rapidly expanding for a number of years. The more complex and more high-tech the manufactured goods become, for example, in the auto industry and in other key technologies, the louder the call for suitable quality-assurance systems.

In view of this situation, it is not surprising that the first trade fair in China for machine-vision technologies, MV China, was a success right from the outset. In spring 2006, 64 exhibitors from nine countries presented machine-vision systems and components, such as cameras, frame grabbers, processors, optics, lights, software, and identification systems in the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. During the three-day-long trade fair, more than 3600 visitors from 15 countries were able to obtain information on machine-vision applications for the automotive, semiconductor, control, and packaging industries, the leading branches of industry in China. MV China is organized by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES). Messe Stuttgart will again act as a partner to CMES for the machine-vision trade fair MV (Machine Vision) China in Shanghai.

The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES) will again have overall charge of this event. In addition to Messe Stuttgart, partners for MV China 2006--the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) and the German Industry & Commerce Centre in Shanghai, fairs & more--will also be involved in 2007. The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) with its Machine Vision Group and the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) have also agreed to act as additional partners for the trade fair.

Messe Stuttgart and its Chinese partner, German Industry and Commerce Co. (GIC) Shanghai, will jointly organize an "International Pavilion" for interested exhibitors.
