3D range sensors from Shape Drive use Gigabit Ethernet interface

Shape Drive GmbH offers a new line of inline control 3D range sensors at a very competitive price. The sensors come with a common Gigabit Ethernet interface, are compact and allow for fast optical shape acquistion.

The typical acquisition and processing time is below 100ms at resolutions down to 10microns, the measurement volume can vary from 50×50×25mm³ to 200×200×100mm. A free software package allows to extract sections and cross sectional lines from the Point cloud. An API that comes with the sensor contains library functions to control the sensor and to process the point clouds.

Various superfast algorithms for data extraction are available, e.g. shape matching of the acquired surface with a reference CAD model.
