APRIL 4--D3 Engineering (Rochester, NY, USA; www.d3engineering.com) has announced that its camera developer kit (CDK) for the TMS320DM6437 Digital Video Development Platform based on Texas Instruments (TI) DaVinci technology has completed a successful beta phase and is beginning production. The company is now accepting orders, and shipments will begin July 1, 2007.
The new platform leverages both the cost savings and the smaller size afforded by TI TMS320DM643x devices. The daughter card allows a developer to use CMOS/CCD imagers as input devices. Image output directly to a TFT LCD is supported, as is a USB 2.0 chipset. D3 Engineering was an early adopter of TI DaVinci technology, incorporating the processors in its CDK.
