JUNE 28--Gotive (www.gotive.com), a manufacturer of mobile communicators, has recently selected the SX3090 megapixel image engine and decode system from Symagery (www.symagery.com) for use in its rugged hand-held communicator. The SX3090 is an imaging system ideal for integration into hand-held or fixed-mount scanners or portable data-collection terminals. Symagery's solution includes a scan engine module and comprehensive software development tools to customize functionality for specific industry applications. The solid-state technology means no moving parts and virtually no maintenance for the final product.
The Gotive rugged hand-held communicators are designed for mobile workers in a variety of outdoor environments. They replace the need for independent devices by their combined functionality and, thanks to their modular hardware configuration system, options can include hand-held computer with large outdoor readable touch-screen HVGA (640 x 240 pixels), mobile phone (GSM/GPRS data/voice/sms communication), and barcode reader.
Says Peter Csank, hardware-development manager, Gotive, "We selected Symagery's solutions because its OEM channel-only sales approach encourages a truly collaborative relationship that only a noncompeting supplier can offer. In addition, Symagery also offers us the best fitting imaging technology for the automatic identification and data capture market."
Gotive develops, produces, and sells rugged hand-held communicators for vertical markets. They are designed for use in any application in which mobile users need to collect, process and communicate information at the point of activity: remote logistics, transportation, field services, utilities, retail on the move, public safety, forestry, military, in practically any mobile enterprise solution.
