FocalSpec expands line of 3D confocal imaging sensors

Oct. 7, 2019

The LCI1220 and LCI1620 line confocal sensors from FocalSpec can simultaneously capture 3D topography, 3D tomography, and 2D intensity data in high resolution at a sampling speed of up to 27 million data points per second, with 1,728 points per profile. Both sensors feature 10 GigE interface.

The LCI1220 model has an optical profile length of 11.6 mm, features a 6.7 x 10.0 µm pixel, has Z-repeatability of 0.19 µm, 3 mm depth of field, and maximum measurement speed of 16,000 Hz.

The LCI1620 model has an optical profile length of 17 mm, features a 9.9 x 36 µm pixel, has Z-repeatability of 0.25 µm, 5.5 mm depth of field, and maximum measurement speed of 11,000 Hz.

According to the manufacturer, the new sensors are appropriate for use with transparent or glossy materials and matt surfaces.
