Andor Technology releases new back-illuminated sCMOS camera
Andor Technology has released the Sona 4.2B-6 back-illuminated sCMOS camera, featuring a GPixel GSENSE2020BSI rolling shutter 4.2 MP image sensor with 18.8 mm diagonal and 6.5 µm pixel, designed to obtain maximum resolution from 60x and 40x objective lens magnifications.
Built for high sensitivity applications, the Sona 4.2B-6 features 95% QE, 1.6 e- median dynamic range, and 1.2 e- median read noise. Dark current at -45° is 0.1 e-. The camera also uses correlated multi-sampling to reduce noise. The Sona 4.2B-6 offers 42 fps via 12-bit and 16-bit USB 3.0 connection and 74 fps over 16-bit CoaXPress connection.
