Code Reading Tool for Logistics Operations

Feb. 17, 2023
Th system tracks packages throughout its FOV, allowing users to reduce the space between boxes and process more items.

Cognex Corporation has released the DataMan 580 fixed-mount barcode reader with 2/3 in CMOS image sensor. It is optimized for logistics sorting operations. Designed for the Cognex Modular Vision Tunnel, the DataMan 580 uses patented algorithms to simultaneously decode multiple 1D and 2D codes while the 9 MPixel area scan imager enables greater field of view (FoV). Synchronizes multiple readers for extended FoV and multi-side scanning while maintaining image archive. The system does not require significant gaps between packages, improving throughput. The product has a resolution of 4096 x 2160 and electronic shutter speed of 29 µs (minimum exposure) and up to 10 ms (maximum exposure with internal illumination) and up to 400 ms (maximum exposure with external illumination). Lens options: 16 mm F6, 25 mm F6.5, 35 mm F6 (manual or high speed liquid lens).
