Camera designed for AI-based vision systems applications such as robotics

Orbbec has launched the Gemini 2 XL, a new long-range 3D camera designed especially for varied and demanding lighting conditions. (See related content) The camera has FOV of up to 101° diagonally. The camera features global shutters for IR and RGB spectrums, an internal Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which further enhances the camera’s depth perception capability, depth data output range of 0.4 to 20 m, and multi-camera synchronization capability. It can operate in unbinned dense default, unbinned sparse default, binned sparse default, and RGB modes at up to 1280 x 800 resolution, with frame rates up to 20 fps.

The camera, which can be operated indoors or outdoors, has an operating temperature range of 0° to 40°C. The Gemini 2 XL can be paired with the NVIDIA Orin platform for increased enhanced depth frame rate, accuracy and scene versatility. The camera is designed to be especially useful as the primary visual system for robotics and other AI-based vision systems applications.

The camera is designed to work with the Orbbec Software Development Kit (SDK), which runs on Linux/Windows, and supports such applications as camera access, device setup and configuration, data stream reading, processing, viewing, RGB-D registration and frame synchronization.
