Among others, he suggested the following: 5000-10,000-pixel linescan sensor; 40-Mpixel/s pixel rate; signal-to-noise ratio greater than 50 dB; exposure control from 1 μs to 1 s; 10-bit look-up table providing 1, 2, 4, or 8 bits per pixel; 32-Mbyte video buffer; real-time raw video via 400-MHz hot-link Fibre Channel connection; and RS-422 serial, digital TTL inputs and outputs, analog control outputs.
