    Providing tailor-made systems

    In your article "Vendors tailors CCD cameras to specific applications" (Vision Systems Design, July 1997, p. 42), you omitted Philips (Professional Imaging) as a vendor of CCDs.

    Only one year ago, Philips introduced a 7k ¥ 9k image sensor with a size of a 6-in. wafer. The chip was tailor made for ADI (American Digital Imaging), a company that assisted in designing a customer specific camera for an astronomy application (see http://bilbo.as.arizona.edu/projects/

    adi.html).

    For your information, Philips offers a complete line of imaging products from sensors, electronics, mechanics and opto-mechanics to custom systems.
