PCI board adds vision to processing

Sept. 1, 1998
The CMC-C80 PCI-bus board integrates a TMS320C80 DSP, pipeline processing, dual 2-Mbyte frame buffers, and 16-bit look-up tables to execute imaging functions in 6.25 ms. Image transfers from one memory buffer can be transferred to the PCI bus at rates to 160 Mbytes/s, while the C80 processes data in the other buffer. Processing modules can be added to interface the board to a range of digital and analog cameras, including RS-170, CCIR, progressive scan, infrared, and x-ray. A 16k x 16k no-wait

A 16k x 16k no-wait-state dual-ported RAM furnished high-speed interfacing to the host system. A separate 2-Mbyte program memory supports the board`s data-access rates to 400 Mbyte/s. Output images with arbitrary x-y dimensions of 8k ¥ 8k are produced by a built-in area-of-interest generator.
