Its digital I/O is TTL, is CMOS-compatible to 3V or 5V logic, and comes with self-calibrating pipelined architecture, error-correction circuitry, and input sample-and-hold and refernce buffer amplifiers. The device consumes 390 mW at full speed and 50 mW in standby mode. It operates from a 5-V power supply and can digitize analog input signals up to one-half the clock frequency in the range of zero to 2 V. The ADC comes in a 52-lead TQFP, and costs $29 in quantities of 1000. National Semiconductor Corp., 2900 Semiconductor Dr., Santa Clara, CA 95052; (408) 721-5000.
