Seiko Epson Corp. (Japan) has established a new US-based subsidiary company, Epson Electronics America Inc. (EEA; Segundo, CA). In addition to the sales, marketing, and support activities for color ink-jet printers, scanners, digital cameras, and portable projectors, EEA will expand its design and development of quartz devices, liquid-crystal displays, and PC cards, among others. . . . Agema Infrared Systems Ltd. (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) has been renamed FLIR Systems Ltd. as a result of the merger of Agema Infrared Systems AB (Stockholm, Sweden) and FLIR Systems Inc. (FSI; Portland, OR).
