The FastOne back-illuminated, CCD camera suits soft x-ray, visible, and ultraviolet imaging applications by providing a 80 ¥ 80-pixel resolution, 106-photons/ms signal-handling capacity, 100% fill factor, and more than 90% quantum efficiency. The 14-bit camera comes with a two-stage thermoelectric cooler and four CCD amplifier channels that lower noise to 40 electrons rms at 5000 frames/s and 12 electrons at 600 frames/s. The digitized output can be transmitted over several kilometers using a fiberoptic cable and a furnished multiple-input PCI interface board operating under Windows 95/98/NT. PixelView image-processing software and a software development kit are available. PixelVision Inc., 14964 NW Greenbrier Pkwy., Beaverton, OR, 97006; (503) 629-3210; Fax: (503) 629-3211.
