Fairchild Imaging appoints Boyd Fowler as VP & CTO

MARCH 21--Fairchild Imaging (Milpitas, CA; www.fairchildimaging.com) announced the appointment of Boyd Fowler to the position of vice president and chief technology officer.

MARCH 21--Fairchild Imaging (Milpitas, CA; www.fairchildimaging.com), a developer and manufacturer of high-performance electronic imaging components and cameras, announced the appointment of Boyd Fowler to the position of vice president and chief technology officer. Fowler will report directly to Charles Arduini, president and CEO.

Fowler is a recognized pioneer in the field of CMOS imaging and brings years of CMOS image sensor design and analysis experience. He was a founder and the vice president of engineering at Pixel Devices International (PDI), a Sunnyvale, CA-based startup company that specialized in the area of high-performance CMOS devices. Upon the acquisition of PDI by Agilent Technologies, Fowler joined its sensor solutions division as an image sensor scientist and subsequently managed the advance camera development group.

Fowler earned his B.S. degree in engineering from California State University Northridge and completed his MSEE and PhD EE at Stanford University. He has several refereed journal publications, conference publications and patent awards.

Fairchild Imaging is a manufacturer and developer of electronic imaging components and systems. It is a privately held corporation whose major investors include The Carlyle Group, BAE Systems, and management.
