Machine vision distributor and manufacturer Pacer USA LLC (of Pacer International) will showcase both Optotune’s tunable liquid lens technology (pictured) and New Infrared Technologies’ specialist infrared detectors at SPIE DSS from April 21-23. Optotune’s focus tunable lenses are shape-changing lenses based on a combination of optical fluids and a polymer membrane. With the lenses, vision systems can focus within milliseconds at distances from infinity to 50mm.

New Infrared Technologies infrared detectors are made of PbSe material using a process called Vapor Phase Deposition, which enables the manufacture of bidimensional focal plane arrays. The imaging arrays can provide detection capabilities in uncooled operation up to 10,000 fps in imaging systems, or 20,000 lines/s in scanning systems. The focal plane arrays detect in the MWIR range (3-5 µm).
