USB3 Vision cameras from Point Grey feature Sony CCD image sensor

May 4, 2015
Check out the latest release from Point Grey, a 1.4 MPixel USB3 Vision camera that features an ICX825 CCD image sensor from Sony and targets scientific and industrial imaging applications.

Featuring Sony’s ICX825 CCD image sensor for high sensitivity imaging, the GS3-U3-15S5 cameras (color and monochrome models) are the latest addition to the Grasshopper line of USB3 Vision cameras. The Sony ICX825 is a 2/3", 1.4 MPixel CCD image sensor with a 6.45 µm pixel size that can achieve frame rates up to 45 fps. In addition, like other Grasshoppper3 cameras, these models use a proprietary USB 3.0 link layer and frame buffer-based architecture, as well as an image processing pipeline to enable color interpolation, look up table, gamma correction, pixel binning and USB3 Vision support. GS3-U3-15S5 USB3 Vision cameras are suitable for use in scientific and industrial applications such as fluorescent microscopy, electronics assembly, and inspection.
