A multi-million dollar investment will upgrade both the technical capability and production capacity of the dichroic filter arrays that incorporate PIXELTEQ’s patented micro-patterning technology. In addition to this, PIXELTEQ has announced several new hires that will strengthen its management team. Marco Snikkers has been appointed Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Snikkers recently led the European market for PIXELTEQ from its Netherland headquarters. Prior to joining PIXELTEQ, Snikkers was the commercial director for Ocean Optics across Europe since 2006.
James Troeger has also joined PIXELTEQ as Quality Manager, bringing more than 15 years of quality systems experience in semiconductor, automotive, and defense industries. In addition, Joris van Nunen has been appointed PIXELTEQ’s European Manager, applying his laser and photonics background to provide local support to a growing number of European clients.
"We are excited to see how our clients are using multispectral sensors to improve decisions, processes, and lives," said Snikkers in a press release. "PIXELTEQ’s new upgrade allows us to better serve OEM clients who need to scale miniaturized spectral sensors and wafer-level optics to volume production."
By integrating precision optical filters into the sensor itself, PixelCam and PixelSensor arrays enable OEMs to simplify and shrink optical designs for high performance portable and wearable devices, according to the company.
PIXELTEQ will showcase its line of PixelCam multispectral cameras, including the PixelCam-SWIR, at Photonics West 2015. This camera features a 640 x 512 Goodrich solid state InGaAs image sensor, as well as advanced gain control, contrast enhancement modes, and a standard F-mount. The camera’s snapshot multispectral imaging capabilities provide sensitivity out to 1700nm. In addition, it features 14-bit Camera Link output, 15μm pixel pitch, and a 9.6 x 7.68 mm active area. PixelCam SWIR cameras are suitable for use in machine vision, aerial mapping, water quality measurement, product screening, biomedical imaging, and surveillance applications.
