AUGUST 23--Designers of Camera Link-based machine-vision systems can now extend the distance of their camera-to-frame-grabber interfaces, thanks to a new product from Logical Solutions (Madison, CT; www.logicalsolutionsinc.us). Dubbed the Optic Link CL-XX-X, the fiberoptic interface consists of an integrated Camera Link-to-fiber transceiver and another fiber-to-Camera Link transceiver. With a supply voltage of +5 V, the USB-like connectors feature both an integrated MDR26 Camera Link and a fiberoptic interface.

Featuring Camera Link Base-configuration support, the interface can be used to extend camera-to-frame-grabber distances to 500 meters, according to company's vice president of marketing, John Thomas. The dual stand-alone transceivers can transfer data as fast as 1.25 Gbits/s over the fiber. Details of the transceiver set can be obtained directly from John Thomas: [email protected]).
