Pixel Devices to ship ultrahigh-performance Owl linescan camera
SEPTEMBER 20--Pixel Devices (www.pixeldevices.com) is now shipping its ultrahigh-performance Owl linescan camera to customers throughout the world. The Owl family of linescan cameras combines very high sensitivity and ultralow noise with high-speed operation. The payoff is high signal-to-noise ratio for the toughest imaging applications. The Owl cameras operate at up to 50,000 lps, have a sensitivity greater than 2000 DN/nJ/cm
All Owl cameras provide Camera Link "medium" configuration for convenient data acquisition and control. They can be operated at 50 Mpixels/s from each of two 14-bit outputs. An RS232 port is provided for additional flexibility in controlling the camera independently of the Camera Link interface.
The Owl cameras are based on Pixel Devices' proprietary low noise linear image sensors, developed to provide high sensitivity at high speed while maintaining ultralow read noise. They achieve sensitivity approaching multistage TDI sensors, but without the alignment problems.
The Owl is optimized in three models to maximize performance for specific performance requirements from highest speed to lowest noise.
