In a poll that asked our readers which topics they’d like to see us covering more often,3D imaging and embedded vision were the top two answers, followed by a tie between multispectral/hyperspectral imaging, and robotics.
This poll saw approximately 140 people indicate the different topics they’d like to see covered more in 2016, including multiple choice options. Once again, the answer at the top should not come as much of a surprise. In the beginning of 2015, we’d launched a poll to ask our readers what thehottest topic in 2015 was, and like this most previous poll, the answer was 3D imaging (51%). Embedded vision (39%) and robotics (37%) both landing in the top three is also not a surprise, as they both did in 2015. What was perhaps a surprise, though, was the topic of multispectral/hyperspectral imaging (37%)—which we added to the poll this year—landing in the top three.
Editor’s note:In terms of multispectral/hyperspectral imaging, are you already using these technologies? If not, where and how would you like to see these technologies used? Let us know in our new, easier-to-use comment section below.
Rounding out the poll after these topics were infrared imaging (29%), life sciences (16%), UAVs (14%), aerospace imaging (12%), and other (7%). Answers in the “other” category included machine learning and software, UV imaging, newly-created technologies, and vision systems validation.
As a result of this poll, we will keep our eye out for any news, products, and application stories relating to these technologies. If you are working within any of these markets or technologies and would like to contact us, please feel free tosend us an email.
