MARCH 19--BFi OPTiLAS Ltd. (Milton Keynes, UK; www.bfioptilas.avnet.com) is offering the Vincent Associates (www.uniblitz.com) CS65 electroprogrammable shutter system, the latest addition to the UNIBLITZ CS series. The CS65 is a small-form-factor shutter and features a 65-mm aperture that fits into a 5-in.-diameter housing. It incorporates an actuator system that can be driven with existing UNIBLITZ drive units. As an option, the shutter can also be equipped with an electronic synchronization system; to increase the unit's flexibility, it is available in an uncased OEM version.

When gating high-intensity light sources, the CS65 shutter can be equipped with polished stainless-steel reflective blades that protect the shutter blades from the light source's damaging effects by reflecting the energy away from the blade surface. The CS65 shutter is electronically programmed to fire specific exposures at precise time intervals to provide accurate, repeatable exposures for a variety of applications, including medical imaging, CCD and video cameras, and low-level laser switching.
