JULY 15--AKAtech SA (www.akatech.ch), a privately held company that specializes in industrial intelligent vision applications, and Fastcom Technology SA (Lausanne, Switzerland; www.fastcom-technology.com ), a smart-vision-product supplier, have signed a letter of intent regarding the acquisition by AKAtech of Fastcom's Process Automation business, which focuses on CMOS smart cameras.

We also see the opportunity for AKAtech to penetrate new markets with innovative application-specific products, such as our recently introduced AKAmatrix, a fast and intelligent Data Matrix reader."
