Varioptic announces Arctic 39N0, an increased aperture variable focus liquid lens

Lyon -Varioptic, a Business Unit of Parrot SA, announces the availability of a new member in the Arctic family. With a 3.9 mm clear aperture, Arctic 39N0 expands the range of applications that can benefit from the numerous advantages that have built the success of the Arctic series.

Based on Varioptic’s breakthrough electrowetting technology, Arctic 39N0 enables variable focus with absolutely no moving parts, ensuring low power consumption, high shock resistance and fast focus change. Its 20 diopters of dynamic range guarantee 5 cm macro mode ability.

Arctic 39N0 is designed for imaging and laser applications requiring a larger aperture than the current Arctic 316 lens , such as long focal objectives, C-Mount lenses or large sensor imaging, and is perfectly suited for applications such as industrial vision, medical imaging cameras, optical equipment and biometric devices.

Arctic 39N0 is available now from Varioptic and its distributors, as well as the Arctic 39N0 Development Kit. This Kit includes two Arctic 39N0 liquid lenses, a power supply with a choice of driver ICs, a standard lens holder, driving software and libraries, plus an extensive set of documentation. An Arctic 39N0 Upgrade Kit is also available for customers already using an Arctic Development Kit.
