AUGUST 10--Philips Communication, Security & Imaging Inc., a business unit of Philips Electronics (Philips CSI; Lancaster, PA; www.philipscsi.com), has incorporated a proprietary version of the 1.3 million-pixel IQeye3 smart-camera platform from IQinVision into its new Color Multi-Camera e-dome Digital Video Recording System. This system lets you electronically pan/tilt/zoom in either live or recorded video. The e-dome also lets you simultaneously view and record 360° video so you see everything, all the time.

The e-dome utilizes the IQeye3 platform to capture images and send them over a standard Ethernet network cable to the e-dome Digital Recording System, where the video is processed, displayed, and recorded. The e-dome's 360° coverage allows security professionals to focus on an area of interest with the confidence of knowing the system is recording all the rest. The e-dome's totally electronic IQeye3-based camera provides higher reliability than alternative mechanical systems, and the IQeye3 low power consumption minimizes heat issues.
