Axis recognized as a leader in network camera, video server market

NOVEMBER 29--Frost & Sullivan (San Jose, CA; www.frost.com) has awarded Axis Communications AB (Lund, Sweden;www.axis.com) its 2001 Market Engineering Leadership Award for the global network camera market based on data derived from an end-user survey conducted by the research firm.

NOVEMBER 29--Frost & Sullivan (San Jose, CA; www.frost.com) has awarded Axis Communications AB (Lund, Sweden;www.axis.com) its 2001 Market Engineering Leadership Award for the global network camera market based on data derived from an end-user survey conducted by the research firm. The survey found Axis to be the definitive market leader with 69% of the total network camera market and 27% of the total video server market. The combined global network camera and video server market is expected to reach approximately $791 million by 2005 and $399 million by 2003, up from $73 million in 2000--in total a tenfold increase.

In the network camera segment, the survey found that Axis has 37% market share in security applications and 84% share in general IT applications such as Web attraction and remote monitoring. The survey also noted that Axis has 50% brand awareness, making the company the most widely recognized and dominating brand name in the PC-independent network camera market.
