OCTOBER 10--DALSA (Waterloo, Canada; vfm.dalsa.com/DALSTAR), an international digital imaging solutions company, recently introduced two new cameras. The DALSTAR 4M30 is a high-performance camera that combines 2k x 2k resolution and true 12-bit digital output at 30 frames per second. Designed for fast, very-high-resolution imaging, the DALSTAR 4M30 combines high performance with "real-time" video rates and replaces the DALSTAR 4M25 in the DALSTAR lineup of standard products. The DALSTAR 4M30 can be used in applications such as ball-grid-array and flat-panel inspection, where there are an abundance of low-contrast, minute features in close proximity.

The DALSTAR 6M18 camera provides high-sensitivity, 12-bit imaging with 3k x 2k spatial resolution at up to 18 frames per second. Originally targeted at the film-scanning industry, the DALSTAR 6M18 megapixel resolution, fast frame rate, and 3:2 aspect ratio are of equal benefit to electronics manufacturing inspection, packaging inspection, and document archiving.
