NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE

mvIMPACT Data Matrix is now mvIMPACT 2D-CodeReader

The naming of the Data Matrix module was necessary because the module was extended by a QR-Code reader. As a result, the restriction implied by the name Data Matrix is no longer correct.

Originally from Japan, the Quick Response-Code (QR-Code, ISO/IEC 18004) has grown more and more important not only in the automotive industry. Wherever it is needed to identify parts and components – even in magazines, for example, to provide more information about an article – the QR-Codes are increasingly used. Beside Data Matrix code, MATRIX VISION’s mvIMPACT 2D-CodeReader extended module now supports the QR-Code and reads all QR-Codes sizes from 21 x 21 to 177 x 177 elements. The mvIMPACT module decodes codes regardless of position; also mirrored, from behind as well as dark-on-bright and vice versa. A further special feature of the mvIMPACT implementation: the print quality of the code can be determined according to ISO/IEC 15415.

In spite of this functional extension, the price for sale remains unaffected.
