A dual-line CMOS sensor in the sprint 8k linescan camera boosts image quality to a maximum line rate of 70 kHz with 8192-pixel resolution. A time-delayed line sum feature can double the camera's sensitivity and increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by up to 3 dB. The two lines in the sensor scan each area on the object twice with time delay and combine the collected information. The sprint camera includes an AOI (area of interest) with speed increase, shading correction, test images, line stamps, configuration sets, and error condition detection. Image variations that may result from optics, lighting, or sensor performance can be modified by PRNU or DSNU shading correction.
