Euresys gets patent for linescan acquisition

OCTOBER 22, 2008--Industrial machine-vision products and services supplier Euresys (Itasca, IL, USA; www.euresys.com) has announced it was granted US Patent No. 7,425,982 B2 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, on Sept. 16, 2008. The patent is titled "Method and Apparatus for Resampling Line Scan Data" and is related to the technology commercially called ADR Technology, currently implemented in Euresys's Camera Link frame grabbers Grablink Avenue and Grablink Express. The company says ADR provides for stable and reliable image acquisition from linescan cameras at variable web speed. It enables the linescan camera to operate at a constant cycling rate without the need for an electronic shutter. The speed of motion is still allowed to fluctuate. Real-time digital computation delivers acquired images reproducing exactly the observed objects. ADR preserves the original shape, color, and scale features of the scanned web.
