Andor Technology Ltd. has announced the launch of USB 3.0 versions of its Zyla sCMOS camera platform, which is available in 4.2 MPixel and 5.5 MPixel models. The cameras feature front illuminated scientific CMOS image sensors with a 53 fps frame rate on the 4.2 MPixel model and a 40 fps frame rate on the 5.5 MPixel model. The Zyla 5.5MPixel sCMOS camera offers both rolling and global exposure modes, which enables it to closely emulate the “snapshot” exposure mechanism of interline CCDs, making it suitable for use in live cell imaging applications. The Zyla 4.2 MPixel sCMOS camera’s sCMOS sensitivity and low fan vibration make it suitable for use in microscopy applications.
