Varioptic has announced the release of the Caspian M12-316-2.6 to its range of auto focus lens modules. The Caspian M12-316-2.6 has a 2.6 mm effective focal length, ultra-wide angle imaging (160° field view), and a 4 mm to infinity focus range. The new lens features a built-in Arctic 316 liquid lens and is compatible with up to 1/2.5" image sensors and M12x0.5 mounts (S-Mount) and off-the-shelf FPC connectors. In addition, an optional infrared-cut filter is available. This board-level lens also features a 7.2 mm image circle diameter and a Caspian Development, which includes two Caspian lens modules, a power supply with a choice of driver ICs, a connection cable, and driving software and libraries.
