Pepperl+Fuchs have announced the release of the R2100 multi-ray LED scanner, which combines the company’s exclusive Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT) with infrared LEDs and multi-ray scan. The time of flight R2100 scanner emits short pulses of high-intensity light via 11 ultra-infrared LEDs at up to 250,000 times per second and features a 0.2m to 8m operating range and 88° scan range. In addition, the LED scanner has a 50 Hz scan rate, an IP67 protective housing, and a 1 mm resolution. The R2100 scanner is particularly suitable for use in harvesting and materials handling and logistics applications, as well as applications that require object detection of irregular surfaces.
