AUGUST 28, 2009--Four newly released time-of-flight (TOF) cameras are based on the SR4000 platform, which includes customer feedback-driven features in the areas of higher background light suppression and improved dynamic range (factor of two compared to earlier offerings). Utilizing an optical feedback design, each camera continually self-calibrates while in operation. The cameras feature a 176 x 144-pixel array (QCIF) and are capable of capturing complete 3-D scenes at up to 54 frames/s. The four released products include selections offering Ethernet or USB interfaces and a range of operation either up to 5 m or up to 10 m.

    PRESS RELEASE

    Press Release

MESA releases four new cameras based on the SR4000 platform

MESA imaging is the leading company in the supply of 3D Time-of-Flight (TOF) cameras. TOF cameras are based on the principle that each of tens of thousands of pixels determine the distance from the camera to the object via a highly accurate time delay measurement. MESA cameras are capable of creating 3D maps in real time (> 30 frames/second) of a scene with a resolution more than 25,000 pixels.

The four released products include selections offering:
    Interfaces: Ethernet or USB
Range of Operation: Up to 5 meters or 10 meters.
SR4000: A platform based on proven technology
The four newly released products are based on the SR4000 platform, which includes customer feedback-driven features in the areas of higher background light suppression and improved dynamic range (factor of two compared to earlier offerings). Utilizing an innovative optical feedback design, each camera continually self-calibrates while in operation.

    Main characteristics:
Captures complete 3D scenes at up to 54 FPS
    176 x 144 pixel array (QCIF)
    Robust, industrial grade housing.
Self calibrating optical design for stable measurements over time
    In-pixel background light suppression
    Excellent absolute accuracy and repeatability
Measurements stable over large temperature range (+10°C to 50°C)
    Eye safe illumination Class 1
    EMC class A
