SEPTEMBER 18, 2009--Allied Vision Technologies (AVT; Ahrensburg, Germany; www.alliedvisiontec.com) organized its 7th AVT Partner Convention from Sept. 7-9 in Nutfield Priory, UK. The event was an opportunity to gather the new AVT worldwide sales network resulting from the Prosilicaintegration.
Delegates from 19 countries attended this year's Partner Convention, which was the first joint sales convention of AVT and Prosilica. The agenda included an update on AVT's strategy and the Prosilica integration, discussions on the challenges of the economic crisis, and an outlook on new FireWire and GigE Vision cameras to be introduced in the coming months. Technical workshops and application case studies completed the work sessions.
As every year, the AVT Kart Race World Championship was a highlight of the AVT Partner Convention. Thirteen teams raced on the Daytona Sandown Park course.
The event was co-hosted by Stemmer Imaging UK, AVT's distribution partner in the United Kingdom.
In Canada, Prosilica has completed the renovation of its production floor in Burnaby. British Columbia. Renovations include the installation of non-dusting floor and ceiling tiles, additional ceiling HEPA filter and blower modules, and continuous-monitor ESD grounding wrist-straps added to all technician workstations to further ensure the quality of Prosilica's cameras and enhance overall productivity.
